Kolla is a Malayalam thriller movie directed by Suraj Varma. Rajisha Vijayan, Priya Prakash Varrier, Vinay Forrt and Alencier Ley Lopez acted in lead roles.
Story Plot
The story revolves around two girls, Annie (Rajisha Vijayan) and Shilpa (Priya Varrier), who set up a new beauty parlour in a small town. The parlour quickly gains popularity as there is no other parlour nearby. However, it is later revealed that the girls have a different plan altogether to execute a heist of the cooperative bank located above their parlour. The remainder of the story focuses on their plans to carry out the heist and their subsequent attempts to escape.
Short Review
Kolla is a movie based on a story by the successful duo Bobby-Sanjay, inspired by the Chelambra bank robbery. As expected, the story has all the elements to make it an excellent thriller. But it falls short in the execution due to the narration by Jasim Jalal and Nelson Joseph. The first half of the movie focuses on introducing the characters and delivers a surprising twist before the interval. Unfortunately, the second half loses its pace. Despite the continuous twists, the investigation part feels slow. Some of the twists are also not very convincing. The music is not exceptional but decent. Overall, Kolla has a very good story that is spoiled by the narration.
