Story Plot
A man leading a happy life with his family while running a coffee shop in Himachal Pradesh finds himself in trouble when a gangster group from Tamil Nadu identifies him as ‘Leo,’ a notorious drug lord. Is he the real Leo or simply a lookalike? To what lengths will he go to protect his family? These questions shape the rest of the story
Short Review
Being one of the most expected movies in Indian cinema, does it satisfy the audience? I would say partially. The first half of the movie is set up very nicely to have a banging second half, which unfortunately ends up being the movie’s weak point. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s screenplay in the second half is a letdown. The flashback of Leo is not very convincing. Villains and many stars were underutilized.
However, ‘Leo’ is worth a watch, especially for Thalapathy Vijay fans and enthusiasts of action films. You get to witness a new, more aggressive side of Thalapathy in this movie. Thalapathy as a performer steals the show. Other major positives for this movie include the action sequences, cinematography, and music. More than half of the movie is filled with action. But every sequence is different from the other which makes it interesting. Yes, there are some logic loopholes in the movie which are negligible considering it is an action movie.
Overall, Leo had the potential to become one of the best Tamil movies ever, ends up being an above average movie.
