Erumbu is a Tamil language comedy drama movie directed by Suresh Gunasekaran starring Charle, Monica Siva, Shakthi Rithvik, MS Bhaskar in prominent roles.
Story Plot
The story revolves around a beautiful family where Charlie lives with his two children from his first wife (Monica Siva and Shakthi Rithvik), his second wife (Susan George) with his baby, and Charlie’s mother. They are a financially struggling family. One day, the youngest child accidentally loses a one-gram golden ring while their parents are out. In order to replace the ring before their aunt finds out, the boy along with his sister and an older friend begins a journey to earn money and buy a new ring. This journey forms the crux of the story.
Short Review
Erumbu directed by Suresh Gunasekaran, successfully achieves its intended goals with a few minor drawbacks. The story is highly relatable and emotionally engaging, leaving a lasting impression. Each character in the movie delivers exceptional performances. However, the director could have spent more time in establishing the boldness of Susan George and MS Baskar’s characters. The technical team’s work is commendable overall. The music is a major highlight, enhancing the impact of most scenes. The songs are also decent. The film’s runtime is slightly longer than necessary for the story and trimming it by 15-20 minutes would have been beneficial. Overall, Erumbu is a decent family entertainer.
