Amala is a multilingual (Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu) psychological thriller movie directed by Nishad Ebrahim starring Srikanth Krishnamachari, Sarath Appani, Anarkali Marikkar and Rajisha Vijiyan in lead roles.
Story Plot
Amala revolves around an intelligent police officer who is assigned to solve a series of serial killings that have occurred in the city overnight. His investigation and findings drives the rest of the story.
Short Review
Amala is a movie that deviates from the norm by revealing the identity of the killer early on, unlike other films that save the revelation for the climax. The first half of the movie is slow, but it gains momentum when Basil (Appani Sharath) takes charge of the case. Director Nishad Ebrahim does a decent job as a debutant. The background score falls short in many scenes. The performances by Appani Sharath and Anarkali Marikar are excellent. While “Amala” could have been better, it remains a decent watch.
